Biography
Benjamin works primarily in the geriatric sector, where he helps older people to regain basic everyday skills. His focus is on basic strength and balance training as well as endurance, coordination and gait safety. Due to the diversity of his patients, he can adapt the intensity of the therapy to their individual abilities and resilience. He is also currently training to become an osteopath and is increasingly integrating a holistic approach into his therapy.
His path into physiotherapy began in Krems an der Donau, where he completed his studies at the UAS in 2021 – in the middle of the first year of the pandemic. After graduating, he gained valuable experience at a rehabilitation center, particularly in the orthopaedic field. However, he soon realized that the work there was not fulfilling enough for him in the long term. He longed for more time for his patients, for the opportunity to address their individual problems in a targeted manner and to accompany their development over longer periods of time.
He finally made a bold decision: he resigned and traveled around the world for a year with his partner Antonia Cremer. During this time, he came into contact with Heimphysio – a project that was just starting up. While still in Honduras, he recorded the first conversations, and shortly after his return, he began his first home visits. He still looks after some of his first patients today.
From the very beginning, he appreciated working as a home-visit therapist. Meeting people in their familiar surroundings creates a special atmosphere that often has a positive effect on the success of the therapy. In addition, all the cycling between appointments keeps him fit – and yes, he really does cycle in all weathers.
He now also works at the Mediphysio practice and enjoys the variety that this combination brings to his day-to-day work. Nevertheless, he remains loyal to mobile physiotherapy and will continue to make many home visits.
